Arissa – Thriving with Support from the Fund

Arissa – Thriving with Support from the Fund

When Arissa started Nursery 2, she found it tough. She had a hard time adjusting to the new classroom routine, keeping up with schoolwork, and managing her big emotions.

Her teachers noticed that she performed much better in a small group. Through the Classroom Support Programme (CSP)1, Learning Facilitators Noorlizah worked closely with her teachers to give Arissa the help she needed, both with her schoolwork and her confidence. She could also learn at her own pace and get guidance on how to express her feelings.

The Fund also provided additional support through financial assistance, easing the family’s financial burden and enabling Arissa to fully participate in school activities.

She’s now confidently reading on her own, has strong writing skills, and is picking up new words all the time. She joins in class discussions and plays happily with her friends.

Arissa’s parents have been a huge part of her success. Her teachers guided them on ways to keep the learning going at home, from tips on healthy eating to using reward systems. This partnership has made the whole family stronger.

Thanks to the support she received from the Fund, Arissa has grown into a confident, independent girl who loves to learn – setting her up for a bright future.

1 The Classroom Support Programme (CSP), co-funded by CapitaLand Hope Foundation, provides in-class learning support for My First Skool children in N2 to K2 from low-income families to prepare them for primary school.
